Let us offer two AMAZING ways to approach this:
The First: Buy a record player (if you have one, you’re gangster). It doesn’t have to be expensive. Urban Outfitters offers inexpensive options that will do or craigslist/ebay that shit. THEN google music of the era (chosen by Mark I might add), make a hit list of the golden’s and the people you don’t know. DON’T LISTEN TO THEM ON SPOTIFY YOU CHEAT. Head to a record store and try them out old skool style. If you’re feeling lucky buy online. The point is - slow down. Take a fun risk, put some golden adventure effort it to find new tunes - which ultimately lead to potential new ideas, new love, new understanding.
The Second: Ask your ridiculously cool friends to make playlists for you! Could be Spotify (pandora if you’re old), could be shares, no physical boundaries on this one. I LOVE exploring music recommended by other people. Sometimes how you research or explore new things in of itself is a routine and you might now discover gems you otherwise would with the power of others. PLUS you’ll get to know your friends or their friends so intimately. Music is fricken personal. Showing your playlist is like showing your browser history. AND you’re getting some facetime with your pals. Building camaraderie.
Regardless which one you choose SHARE the LOVE! We’d love to hear what you found. Tag #GOODSOULMUSIC
